About Rick

Rick Thompson has been immersed in music since childhood, beginning piano and guitar lessons at age 10 while also teaching himself bass. After attending several magnet schools, he went on to study jazz piano and guitar at Houston’s High School for the Performing and Visual Arts.

Over the years, Rick built a strong foundation as a performer before turning more of his focus toward studio composition, recording, and audio engineering. His work combines seasoned musicianship with a deep understanding of sound, arrangement, and production.

Rick has worked with a diverse range of artists, including Moses Guest, Jetset, Beat Temple, Mary Cutrufello, Calvin Owens, Mango Punch, Fondue Monks, Sarah Sharp, Kanude, 4 Deep, and Kosmic Cowboy.

Rick’s studio and instrument setup reflects the same versatility he brings to his work as a musician, composer, and engineer.
